Bella Basics - Skin :)

What makes Bella Bella? It is the creamy, pale skin? Or the rich chocolate brown tresses? The non fuss approach to makeup? This post, let's talk about the Bella basics.

First up, skin. Bella has very pale, unblemished skin. This means two things. One, lots of sunscreen. Two, a VERY good skincare routine.

I would recommend sunscreen with an SPF 50 if you want to have the perfect Bella skin (ie, no freckles). However, if you, like me, feel freckles give a nice touch, then still use a sunscreen, but one with a lower SPF. That way, hopefully, you will get some freckles, but not tan too much. Even though I love freckles, I still use SPF 50, as I burn very easily. I heart Garnier Ambre Solaire Face Protection Cream.

The key to a good skincare routine is to cleanse and moisturise every morning and night. You can tone, but I don't feel this does much for me. Remember to use eye make up remover if necessary to avoid panda eyes! I also like to use a facial scrub once a week, and a face mask every two, just to give my skin some extra love. I use the range Simple for all of the above, as it contains natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals.

I also steam my face once a month, to help sweat out any impurities. This involves putting some hot water into a bowl, putting your face into the steam with a towel over your head to stom any steam escaping, waiting five minutes, then washing your face. I also like to add a Toner Tab from Lush, to make the water smell nice.

Bella's colour palette

Bella's colour palette is a warm, rich one, full of earthtones. It brings out Bella's tomboyish side more than her feminine one.

Unless you want to end up attracting funny stares for being an exact copy of Bella Swan, it's important to develop your own palette that will work for you. Think about what colours look good on you, and what colours are in your existing wardrobe. My colour palette incorporates the richness and the warmness of the colours Bella likes to wear, but I made sure it would work with my existing wardrobe and my fashion style.

If you don't feel warm, earthy colours are your sort of thing, why not base your palette around the Cullens?  Bella does become one after all! Focus on silvers, blues, greys, creams - think ethereal
